The 2011 volleyball regular season comes to a close tonight and the race for the playoff spots from 4-4A is long from over as well.

The Broncos needing a win on Friday against rival Ryan, won the first two games, before winning game five to get within a victory of reaching the post season.

Denton takes on Wichita Falls tomorrow night and with a victory the Broncos will guarantee themselves no worse than a third place tie.

Lake Dallas has won the district and enters Tuesday’s match trying to stay perfect in district and move to 12-0. Rider, the team they are playing enters at 5-6, along with Denton and Ryan. The Colony who is 6-5, plays Little Elm who is 1-10.

The Colony would clinch the second spot with a victory and if Lake Dallas defeats Rider, the winner of the Denton and Old High game will reach the playoffs. It Rider upsets Lake Dallas, there will be a three  way tie between Ryan, Rider and the winner of the Denton-Old High match.
