In Tuesday’s night battle with cross town rival Guyer, Jade Akins goes up for a point.

Following Tuesday nights hard fought loss to rival Guyer, the Lady Broncos still have a shot at the playoffs come Friday night at Bowie High School.

Denton finished in a three way tie with Wichita Falls Rider and Azle at 8-6 in 5-4A play. After a meeting today the pairings are set with Azle earning the bye. The Lady Broncos will square off against Rider at 4:30 p.m. Friday. With a victory over Rider, a team it split with the season the team would be guaranteed at least the fourth seed. If they were to defeat the Raiders in the opener and then take down Azle at 6 p.m. they would grab the third seed leaving the other two to play it out for fourth.

If Denton was to lose to Rider in the opener, they would then need Rider to go on to defeat Azle setting up a game for the fourth seed between Azle and Denton at 8 p.m. also at Bowie High School.

The team that picks up the third seed will meet Saginaw High School next week and the fourth place representative will get a bi-district match up with Saginaw Boswell.
