Cy Ward threw for four touchdowns and ran for another as the 9th grade A team (gold) routed Brewer 55-14 at Bronco Field. The victory moved DHS to 3-1 on the season.
Ward’s first touchdown to Bailey Barrow put the Broncos up 6-0. He then connected with Ke’Von Burris for two touchdown passes and Paul Hunter added a two point conversion to put the Broncos ahead 20-14. Ward’s other scoring pass was to Paul Hunter.
Deavonte Doucet and Deontrae Murray each had scoring runs in the contest and the Broncos other score was a interception returned by Jake Cleveland. Cleveland also added a two point conversion along with a blocked extra point, while Bailey Barrows added three extra points. Mark Johnson rounded out a solid defensive performance with an interception of his own.
