Again going head-to-head against surrounding 5A and 6A schools, the UIL Academic Teams competed on Feb. 13 at the Ryan High School Invitational B Meet. Awards were handed out for first-sixth place in each contest.

In Spelling & Vocabulary, TJ Akram (first), Donna Son and Hanna Chen (second – tie) and Caden Young (fifth) each brought home a trophy.

In Journalism, Shelby DuPont placed second in both Editorial and News Writing events, Sarah Skinner placed fourth in News and sixth in Feature Writing and Zakiyyah Ibrahim placed fifth in Headline Writing.

In Ready Writing, Yvette Han placed sixth.
