Facing both 5A and 6A schools, 25 students competed in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Invitational A contest on Jan. 9, at Flower Mound High School.

With a recently formed Spelling and Vocabulary team, new coach Seth Ross brought home the first place team trophy, and individual medals for Donna Son (first), Hannah Chen (second), TJ Akram (third) and Caden Young (sixth).

In Ready Writing, Kristin Williamson earned third place, coached by Julie Seeley.
