UIL Contestants Place Top Ten at Argyle Invitational

With over 20 schools competing on Jan. 30, Academic UIL participants improve performance, as they prepare for the district meet in April.

While Argyle only offered individual events, the Spelling and Vocabulary team continued with top placements for Talha Akram (first), Donna Son (second), Hanna Chen (third) and Caden Young (fifth).

Literary Criticism: Lilly King (third)
Mathematics (Ninth Grade Division): Kesavan Srivilliputhur (overall winner)
Number Sense (Ninth Grade Division): Hannah Chen (overall winner)
Science (Ninth Grade Division): Kesavan Srivilliputhur (overall winner)
Feature Writing: Shelby DuPont (seventh)
News Writing: Shelby DuPont (third)

In addition to Seth Ross for spelling, the Academic UIL teams are coached by Barry Wagner (Computer Science); Julie Seeley (Ready Writing & Literary Criticism), Ashley Sharp (Current Events), Corrin Retzer (Science), Mathematics (Fred Mueller), Darby Morris (Speech & Debate) and Rebecka Frey (Journalism).
